Amélie (2001)

Amélie is a romantic comedy featuring Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz, Serge Merlin, Dominique Pinon, and Claire Maurier. The film is co-produced by French and Germany companies. The story was written by Guillaume Laurant and Jean-Pierre Jeunet with Jeunet serving as director of the movie.

The movie opened in France in April 2001 and into wide release in the United States in February 2002.

Amélie received the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Original Screenplay and Best Foreign Language Film.

Rating: R for sexual content.
